Before & After - Rec Room

Hello, Hello!

And how are you all on this wonderful weekend?

I thought I would switch things up a little, and do a before and after post. We moved into our house almost 3 years ago now. Now you need to understand that it is a fixer uper is the most literal sense of the word. Almost ever single area of the house needed to be redone, including the outside.

One of the most significant changes was the basement. Here is the before picture (Warning: if your hair turns white from the sheer terror of the picture, please don't blame me!):

Just a Little Accent Wall...

And hello again!!

Today I thought I would show you something I did in my stairway wall with inspiration from Martha Stewart.

Below is the picture, and I found it at this link: http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/frame-and-mirror-projects

I thought it was such a creative and different idea for a wall without a lot of room for anything else. So, away I went gathering frames and painting them white with good ol' spray paint.

DIY Pomander Balls

Hello again!

Thought I would do another quick and easy post of a DIY imitation craft I did. These are Pomander Balls or Kissing Balls. This one I saw posted by Courtney at Pizzazzerie a while back. The link to her tutorial is here. And wow, are hers ever gorgeous!

I followed her steps, added my own tweaks and ended up with these babies (excuse the bad pictures):

First Post & First Imitation - DIY Cloche

Hi there!

Well it's my first post here at Craft Wannabe, and I guess I need to tell you a little about myself (but not much, don't wanna bore you!) My name is K. and I love reading the DIY and craft blogs, enough that I decided to start my own!

I am a full-time worker and a wife to a wonderful husband. I have too many animals, and I am sure they will make appearances on here.

Okay, so to the first crafty/DIY thing I tried after reading so many awesome blogs out there - DIY Cloche.

I know! I know! Overdone right? But it was one of the first things I tried to do myself, and it gave me the inspiration to keep going. I first saw it on a post by Allison @ House of Hepworth's. I didn't do a tutorial because there is already so many great one's floating around. Here is Allison's.

Instead of painting my black, I chose white. Most of the furniture in my house is already dark, so I needed a few things to lighten things up.

You just need a cheese dome for your local Goodwill store (or thrift store), a candle stick, some spray paint and glue.

I added some grapevine and twine baubles from Wal-Mart.

Well, that's it for my first post.

Hope you come back soon!!

K.
