Christmas Cookies in a Jar

Hi guys, I'm here with a great Christmas gift idea that I am sure you have been bombarded with for weeks now - Cookies in a Jar! These are seriously the easiest gifts to make ever, and also one that everyone loves to receive.
They are so easy to find too, you can search online for free recipes or you can find them in books and magazines.

I made two different kinds. Mocha Cinnamon Cookie mix and Choco-Cran Cookie mix. Today I am going to show you the Mocha-Cinnamon Cookie Mix in a jar.

 Mocha-Cinnamon Cookie mix:

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour                                1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. instant coffee powder                             1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon                                    1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar                                  3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped almonds

1. Combine 3/4 cup flour, instant coffee, baking sodaa and salt in a medium bowl; stir well. Pour into 1-quart wide-mouth jar with tight fitting lid. Pack down well. Add 3/4 cup flour and pack down well. Combine remaining flour and cinnamon. Add to jar and pack down well. Add sugar, brown sugar, chocolate chips and almonds. Pack down firmly after each layer. Seal jar.

I used muslin and twine to wrap mine up, but you can use whatever you have. You will want to put the instructions on the gift tag.

1 jar mocha-cinnamon mix                                1 egg, lighty beaten
1 cup unsalted butter                                        1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla

1. Preheat oven to 350. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside. Pour contents of jar into large bowl. Mix well, set aside.

2. Cream butter ibn large mixing bowl with mixer ubtil light and fluffy. beat in egg, almond extract and vanilla until light and fluffy. Mix in dry ingredients at low speed until just combined. Knead dough by hand into ball. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.

3. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until browned on top, but still soft in the middle. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet; transfer to racks to cool completely.

Have you guys made cookies in a jar? I would love to see your jars and try out your recipes!
